Chaplain School
While chaplain school may not be able to really prepare you for the emotional atmosphere of many situations, it can teach you how to cope and help others cope with grief and loss, dealing with abuse issues, post traumatic stress disorder, depression, and more. Training to perform weddings may take additional education that may not be offered in basic training. Chaplain training courses can usually include a basic “foundations of chaplaincy” course, as well as an introduction to Emergency Services, Death Notification, and application of Chaplaincy in Emergency Services.
In most cases, Chaplain School is fairly inexpensive to complete. If you wish to also perform in weddings and funerals, you may be required to obtain official licensing from your state. Qualifications for licensing may vary, so it’s important to research what your state requires in order to officiate these types of events.
Upon completion of the Chaplain School, you will receive a diploma which can then be used for whatever licensing requirements your state may have. Then you can begin a career assisting others with all sorts of life situations, both good and bad.
